American takes 200 children to see the Boeing 777

Once again American Airlines performed a brilliant action involving children. That's because, last month, in September, the American airline made the dream of its Brazilian children come true to spend a week in Orlando, at Give Kids the World Village in its annual action “MAagic Flight”.

Last Saturday, October 6, 2018, American Airlines, in partnership with GRU Airport, Gate Gourmet and Orbital, held another event for those honored on October 12: about two hundred children were able to get to know the premises of the busiest international airport in São Paulo, in addition to visiting the interior of the Boeing-777300ER operated by American operator.

Young people, aged up to 14, are members of the social project called “Fining the Future with Art”, developed in the region of Guarulhos, in addition to the children of American employees.  The social project serves 120 children and teenagers from public schools, between 6 and 18 years old, and offers information technology, sports, arts, music, ethics and citizenship activities, hardware and reading workshops, among others.

IT'S MORE THAN FLYING was present, recording the moment that the children explored the areas of the airport and the runway of Terminal 3, where they had the opportunity to discover and be enchanted by the beauty of the plane in detail, from the tail to the cockpit. “It's an opportunity for children to get to know their parents' workplace. As they live close to the airport and have family members in aviation, many of them dream of pursuing this career. We are happy to open the doors of American to the children of Tuning the Future with Art,” says Suzana Yeh, general manager of American Airlines at GRU.

“It is very gratifying to see the joy that the world of aviation brings to children. Operating an airport is more than providing service, it is guaranteeing well-being and safety. Our work moves people's minds and this is very gratifying”, said the president of GRU Airport, Gustavo Figueiredo.

In the morning, the children were welcomed in a space at GRU Airport with face paintings, balloon sculptures and various games. During the visit to the aircraft, the children received technical information and curiosities about the model provided by American Airlines employees who led the visit. Back at the GRU Airport facilities, the children also participated in a lunch.
