GOL presents the new plane of the Brazilian Soccer Team
GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes presented on March 3, 2017, in its hangar at Congonhas Airport, the new aircraft that will transport the Brazilian Soccer Team, the #VoaCanarinho, with the symbol and colors of the country.
Inspired by the official nickname of the Seleção - which carries the code name since 1954, when it started to wear the traditional canary-yellow uniform - the #VoaCanarinho aircraft represents GOL's tribute to the singing of 200 million Brazilians rooting for the hex. The idea was to present the players, coaching staff and fans with something that represented, at the same time, the new phase of the team and also the entire tradition of the green and yellow jersey. The team's first flight with the new #VoaCanarinho aircraft will be on March 20, bound for Montevideo, where they will face Uruguay, in the qualifiers for the World Cup in Russia.
The plane chosen to receive the special look was the PR-GUK, model Boeing 737-800NG (Next Generation), with capacity for up to 177 passengers and equipped with Wi-Fi and on-board entertainment system. The aircraft also has a Sky Interior configuration, LED lighting - which gives more spaciousness to the cabin, and outlets below all seats for charging portable electronic equipment.
Official Selection Carrier
The novelty also marks the renewal of the partnership between GOL, which since 2013 has been the Official Carrier of the Brazilian National Team, with the Brazilian Football Confederation for another four years. This contract was made possible through compliance with the rules and parameters established in the Pact for Sport, to which the company has been a signatory since its foundation.
This pact is focused on building a business environment that is more conducive to investment in sports, especially in the long term, in line with good governance and compliance practices.
During the event, which was attended by coach Tite, the players who will make up the team were also called to compete in the next two qualifiers that will take place on 03/23/2017 in Montevideo against Uruguaí; and on 03/28/2017 in São Paulo against Paraguay. It was the first time the CBF made the announcement outside Rio de Janeiro.
