TEXTO 737 MAX 8

Boeing 737 MAX 8 debuted in Brazil

So far it has only been used in the domestic market, the new plane with registration LV-GVD, it is the first MAX to touch Brazilian soil and start flying internationally.

Brazil and the International Airport of São Paulo in Guarulhos, managed by GRU Airport, took another important step in terms of the aircraft models developed and already launched to its customers in the last ten years.

After the debut sequence with the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner by Ethiopian in 2013, with the newest widebody aircraft from Airbus, the A350 by LATAM in 2016, where it was established as the first operator of this model to operate in Latin America, and followed with the world's largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380 by Emirates, and with Airbus' “single aisle” aircraft, the Airbus A320neo in 2017 by Avianca and Azul. This beginning of 2018 was no different with Boeing's best-selling single-aisle aircraft, the Boeing 737, which is now in its third generation and which earns the name –MAX.

With its inaugural flight to São Paulo, Aerolíneas Argentinas was the first airline to use its new Boeing 737 Max 8 for international flights. The inaugural flight AR 1240 departed Aeroparque Jorge Newbery at 6:40 am yesterday (February 7th) and landed at Guarulhos International Airport at 10:25 am, after being received with a traditional baptism by means and authorities in São Paulo (See our photo).

“We are proud to cross the border with MAX and to be able to serve more efficiently and with more comfort a key route for our business and tourism passengers such as the route between Buenos Aires and São Paulo”, expressed Mario Dell´ Acqua, President of Grupo Aerolíneas. "This new MAX allows us to fly more and better: with more range, less noise, more efficiency and more autonomy, it's a very positive addition that we hope can serve very well on a growing route that seeks more agile connections."

With a configuration of 170 seats per equipment (8 in Club Economy and 162 in Economy) and greater flight autonomy, this new aircraft has been covering commercial flights in Argentina and the region since December 2017.

Aerolíneas Argentinas is expected to receive another five MAXs by May 2018.

The MAX family incorporates the latest technology in CFM International LEAP-1B engines, its innovative winglets and other enhancements to deliver the highest efficiency. It has a more comfortable interior, an LED lighting system that changes colors according to the time of day, adapting its intensity and the double ends on the wings allow less use of fuel, thus preserving the environment and reducing operating costs.

Brazil is connected with Argentina through 90 weekly frequencies on average, with departures from different cities on non-stop flights, such as Porto Alegre, Curitiba, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador, which are added to seasonal routes between different points in Argentina and destinations such as Florianópolis and Porto Seguro.
