Azul Linhas Aéreas completed on December 15, 2018, its tenth anniversary, celebrating significant numbers achieved since its foundation. With the largest and most comprehensive air network in the country, Azul serves Brazil like no one else, serving more than twice as many cities as other companies in the sector. In all, 112 destinations receive company aircraft, 102 in Brazil and 10 abroad. Recognized by the public and critics as the best airline in the country and one of the best in the world, Azul achieved this status thanks to its more than 12,000 Crew members, whose mission is to serve and make the experience of those who fly with the company the best of the world.

With an innovative model, Azul entered the market bringing a high level of service and product, which quickly conquered Brazilians. Speaking of Brazilianness, the company stamps the map of Brazil on its logo and began operations with Embraer E-jets, 100% Brazilian aircraft. Proof of its rapid success, the company was the company that quickly reached the one million Customers mark in the world, hitting this record successively seven times for every new million Customers.

Its operations, like its route map, are plural. With aircraft ranging from 70 to 270 seats, the company has a fleet of more than 120 aircraft, which serves from small and medium-sized cities to large centers, connecting Brazil and the world through its main hubs. An example of this is the Campinas airport, which, through Azul's flights, became the largest hub in Latin America for direct domestic destinations.

With an optimistic outlook for the future, Azul wants to tread a path with even more success in its next decade of operations. “No other airline has done as much for Brazil as Azul in the last 10 years. Today, our company has 12 thousand crew members and we trust our team a lot to continue growing and helping the country to develop”, says John Rodgerson, president of Azul.

By 2022, the company plans to take regular commercial aviation to another 35 new Brazilian cities. “In the first half of next year alone, we intend to open four new destinations. Our fleet will also grow, always focusing on an even more efficient operation in terms of cost and profitability, in addition to being more technological and comfortable for our Clients”, emphasizes Rodgerson.

To make the date even more special, the company held a commemorative party in Viracopos for its customers and crew. “We want to celebrate this date, which is so important for Azul, who helped us build one of the best airlines in the world,” says Rodgerson.

Customers who boarded in Viracopos during the morning participated in the celebrations. Before boarding, a birthday cake marked the day's celebration. Those who were at the airport in the afternoon had the opportunity to see up close all the diversity of Azul fleets, as the company parked an aircraft of each model in the apron of Viracopos.

On the same day, the Air Crew got a special gift. At UniAzul, the company's corporate university, a memory space was inaugurated in the building. The exhibition will be permanently installed and will fill the building's walls and corridors with historical facts and important achievements of the company achieved in its first decade. “UniAzul is the meeting point for our Crew Members. Now they will be able to remember everything we've done and be inspired to fly even higher”, concludes Rodgerson.
